Cube Entertainment, the agency representing the group, announced the temporary halt in activities through an official press release on Saturday. According to the statement, Minnie and Yuqi visited a hospital on Friday due to sudden symptoms of fever and headaches. The agency, following medical advice, deemed it necessary for the members to focus on sufficient rest and treatment, leading to the suspension of all upcoming events, including a press event scheduled for Monday.

This health-related announcement follows similar incidents in recent months. Minnie experienced health issues during the group's performances in the United States in December last year, leading to a temporary suspension of her activities. Additionally, Shuhua sought medical attention for fever and was diagnosed with Type A influenza.

Concerns about the management of (G)I-DLE's demanding schedules have been raised due to the recurring reports of health issues. The group embarked on a world tour from June to October last year, covering various cities in Asia, the U.S., and Europe. In December 2023, they participated in the "Jingle Ball Tour" across seven cities before appearing in local year-end performances.
