In a groundbreaking achievement for both BTS and the K-pop industry, Jungkook, the youngest member of the internationally acclaimed group, has dominated music charts worldwide with his debut solo song, "Seven." Released on Friday, the track quickly soared to the top of prestigious music platforms, including Spotify and Oricon, as well as achieving remarkable success on iTunes and local Korean charts.

The trailblazing solo endeavor by Jungkook has propelled him to new heights on the global stage. "Seven (feat. Latto)" clinched the number one position on Spotify's Daily Top Song Global Chart, securing an all-time high of 15,995,378 streams within just 24 hours of its release. This remarkable feat marks the first time a K-pop solo song has debuted at the top of this chart, solidifying Jungkook's status as a formidable solo artist.

The success of "Seven" extended beyond its primary version, with the instrumental track claiming the 65th spot on the Daily Top Song Global Chart. Additionally, Jungkook's previously released solo tracks, "Still With You" and "My You," garnered impressive rankings at No. 54 and No. 113, respectively.

Further asserting his dominance, Jungkook's new release also made waves in the Japanese music scene. Oricon, Japan's leading music sales provider, reported that both the clean and explicit versions of "Seven" secured the first and second positions on their Daily Digital Single Ranking, while the instrumental version achieved an impressive fourth place.

The international acclaim of "Seven" reached unparalleled heights, as the single swiftly claimed the number one spot on iTunes Top Song charts in a staggering 106 regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

Back home in Korea, "Seven" achieved another significant milestone, as it soared to the top of Melon's Top 100 chart within a mere 11 hours. This remarkable achievement sets a new record for the shortest time taken by a male solo artist to reach the chart's pinnacle.

Jungkook, having officially released "Seven" as his inaugural solo track, showcased his extraordinary talent during the GMA 2023 Summer Concert Series. The young artist, who opened the show, delivered an unforgettable performance of "Seven" along with other solo hits like "Euphoria" and BTS' chart-topping summer anthem, "Dynamite." Due to adverse weather conditions, the performances were pre-taped and aired on television.

During a live interview on the show, Jungkook expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his fans and addressed the disappointment resulting from the pre-recorded performances. "It's a shame since I've been looking forward to showcasing a smashing performance with the incredible energy of my fans," he shared. He further assured fans that this was only the beginning, urging them to anticipate more remarkable performances in the future.

Jungkook's solo endeavor follows in the footsteps of his fellow BTS members, as they continue to release individual albums while the group takes a hiatus from their collective activities, which commenced in June 2022. Jungkook is the sixth member to venture into solo territory, following J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jimin, and Suga.

Before the release of "Seven," the 25-year-old artist had already made his mark with various collaborative and special projects. Notably, in June 2022, Jungkook featured in Charlie Puth's "Left and Right," making his solo debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at an impressive No. 22. Additionally, he became the first Korean artist to sing a World Cup theme song, titled "Dreamers," and perform at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup held outside of South Korea. With "Left and Right," "Dreamers," and his solo track "Stay Alive," Jungkook achieved a Guinness World Record for accumulating one billion streams on Spotify in the shortest time for a K-pop male solo artist.
