This audition series follows the agency's 17th public audition in January 2023 and the "JYP THE NEXT WAVE" audition in August. JYP Entertainment has a track record of producing K-pop icons, including 2PM's Jang Woo-young, TWICE's Nayeon and Jeongyeon, Stray Kids' Seungmin, and Xdinary Heroes' Jungsu, all of whom began their journeys through the agency's public auditions.

The agency reported a 40 percent increase in application rates for the 17th open audition, the first in three years, compared to the 16th audition. Prospective talents born between 2006 and 2014 can submit applications through the official JYP audition site. The audition categories include vocal, rap, dance, model, or acting.
