The Agency for the Recovery and Identification of those Killed in Action was established by South Korea's Defense Ministry in 2000, marking the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. Its mission is to excavate and recover the remains of soldiers who lost their lives during the 1950-53 war and facilitate their repatriation to their respective home countries.

RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, will assume the role of ambassador for this esteemed military agency, representing its work and initiatives to the public. As a global icon, RM is expected to undertake various activities to raise awareness and promote the agency's noble cause.
