SEOUL, June 12 (SayArt)- Swiss Government's Tourism Office has extended an official invitation to Korean celebrities Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon for their participation in the globally acclaimed 'Art Basel 2023'. The art fair, held annually in Basel, a city symbolizing art and culture in northern Switzerland, is scheduled to run from June 15th to 18th.
Art Basel, since its inception in the 1970s, has enjoyed a global reputation as a rendezvous for the international art community, bridging the world's finest galleries and their patrons.
The Korean couple, Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon, are set to participate in the pre-event held for two days from June 13th to 14th ahead of the official commencement of 'Art Basel'. They kick-started their Swiss journey by entering Zurich, moving forward to explore the central city of Luzern and Mt. Rigi.
Further enhancing their Swiss experience, the pair ascended Mt. Rigi, known as the 'Queen of the Mountains', via the Rigi mountain train and took a cruise in Lucerne. While hiking, they admired the breathtaking lake views, basking in the breaking sunlight.
The couple's journey garnered increased attention as they chose to travel using Switzerland's public transportation system, comprising trains, cruise ships, and buses. This method of travel is one of the most eco-friendly and is actively promoted by the Swiss Tourism Board. Switzerland is known for its people's profound love of nature, rooted in the belief that the country's picturesque natural environment must be preserved for future generations.
Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon, similarly, are well-known in Korea for their love of flora and fauna, mirroring the Swiss spirit. This shared respect for nature likely played a role in the couple's official invitation.
