"Dear Evan Hansen" revolves around the challenges faced by a lonely high schooler named Evan Hansen, who becomes entangled in a web of lies while pretending to have been friends with a recently deceased classmate. The musical premiered in Washington, D.C. in 2015, followed by its Broadway debut in 2016. It garnered six Tony Awards in 2017, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.
