K-pop sensation BTS saw two of its members, RM and V, initiate their mandatory military service on Monday. Both artists entered an Army training center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, simultaneously, as reported by industry sources.
V reportedly volunteered for service in the 35th Special Mission Battalion, a specialized unit tasked with defending Seoul. Both RM and V bid farewell to their fans through social media posts on personal accounts and the fan community platform, Weverse.

V, expressing the challenges of the separation, posted on Weverse on Monday, "The hardest part is not being able to make happy memories with Army (fandom name) for a while. I will come back healthier after 18 months so you should also take care of your health." He shared numerous pictures of the group and himself with a short haircut, encouraging fans to enjoy prepared content during their absence.
RM, in a message on Weverse, reflected on the past decade with BTS, stating, "The past 10 years that I’ve lived as BTS were filled with happiness. I do not doubt that something better will be waiting for us when this is all over."

Jimin and Jungkook are set to begin their mandatory military service on Tuesday, following RM and V's lead. With the enlistment of these four members this week, all seven members of BTS will be actively serving their mandatory military duty.
Jin, the group's eldest member, commenced his service in December of the previous year. J-Hope followed in April, and Suga began his service in September, opting for alternative service. Jin and J-Hope currently serve as assistant instructors at a military recruit training center.
