"Garbage Time," featured on Naver Webtoon, unfolds the story of a new basketball team coach at Jisang High School, a team considered one of the weakest in the nation, as he guides them towards national competition.
The webtoon "Garbage Time" draws inspiration from the real-life experiences of the Busan Jungang High School basketball team. It reached the quarterfinals of Naver's open webtoon contest in 2017 and received the "Today's Webtoon" award from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2023.
The title "Garbage Time" refers to the late stage of timed sports games when coaches typically replace experienced players with reserve players as the game's outcome has been essentially decided.
