On Wednesday, South Korean boy band 82Major debuted with their first album titled "On." The group, comprising Nam Sung-mo, Park Seok-joon, Yoon Ye-chan, Cho Seong-il, Hwang Seong-bin, and Kim Do-gyun, is the inaugural boy band introduced by the emerging label Great M Entertainment.

To celebrate their debut, 82Major held a media showcase event in Seoul.

The name "82Major" combines South Korea's country code, "82," with the term "major," reflecting the group's aspiration to represent their nation.

Their debut album, "On," comprises two tracks: "Sure Thing" and "First Class," showcasing contrasting sound and energy.

"First Class" is a dynamic boom bap-style hip-hop anthem, embodying the group's musical identity with vibrant drum beats, a groovy baseline, and hybrid synths.

Contrastingly, "Sure Thing" presents a softer, melodic tune that delves into themes of enduring love. The song was composed and arranged by songwriter Ryan Jhun.

Members Nam Sung-mo, Hwang Seong-bin, and Yoon Ye-chan contributed as lyricists for the album.

The group emphasized their active involvement in writing lyrics and melodies, underlining their identity as a hip-hop group infused with elements of K-pop.

82Major initially showcased their talents through a pre-debut project called "Rare House," shared on social media ahead of their official debut.

The group expressed short-term goals of engaging with fans and performing for them. In the long term, they aspire to be a positive influence on society and an inspiration to aspiring artists.

In pursuit of representing South Korea, all six members chose to use their real Korean names, eschewing stage names or aliases.

At the event's close, Park Seok-joon reflected on his training journey leading up to the debut, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and a commitment to remember this significant day.
