In an extraordinary feat, the K-pop sensation Stray Kids, under the banner of JYP Entertainment, has secured the second position in US album sales for the current year, as disclosed by the reputable music data site Chart Data. Leading the chart is global superstar Taylor Swift.

Stray Kids' latest release, their third full-length album titled "5-Star," has emerged as the best-selling K-pop album of the year, according to JYP Entertainment. Notably, the group's EP from the previous year, "Maxident," also clinched the tenth spot among the most popular K-pop albums of the year.

When considering overall album sales, "5-Star" impressively claimed the fourth position, trailing behind Taylor Swift's "Midnights" and "Speak Now," as well as Travis Scott's "Utopia."

The monumental success of "5-Star," released in June, catapulted the eight-member boy band to the summit of Billboard's Artist 100 and Billboard 200 charts. This marked their third consecutive No. 1 on the prestigious Billboard 200, the most significant albums chart in the United States, following their previous achievements with "Oddinary" and "Maxident."

Stray Kids is poised to make their debut appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony on September 12. At this highly anticipated event, they will perform "S-Class," the lead track from "5-Star," and compete in the best K-pop category with the same song.

Further solidifying their global presence, the group is set to grace the stage at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival as the event's sole Asian artist. The festival is scheduled to take place on September 23 at Central Park in New York City.

Currently, Stray Kids is captivating audiences in Japan during their inaugural dome tour, aptly named after their third LP, "5-Star." The concert series commenced at Fukuoka's PayPay Dome last month, and the band recently mesmerized fans at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya over the weekend. Upcoming performances are scheduled at Osaka's Kyocera Dome over the coming weekend, followed by a grand finale at the Tokyo Dome on October 28-29.
