In the upcoming television season of 2024, viewers can expect a surge of exciting content featuring the return of A-list actors and highly anticipated sequels of popular series, notably including Netflix's global phenomenon, "Squid Game."
Kim Nam-joo is set to make a comeback with MBC's upcoming series, "Wonderful World," marking her return to television after a six-year hiatus. The mystery series, led by director Lee Seung-young, revolves around a psychology professor and writer, Eun Su-hyun, portrayed by Kim, who seeks justice for her son's death. The show is scheduled to premiere in March.

Kong Hyo-jin also returns to the small screen after five years with the series "Ask the Stars," produced by Keyeast Entertainment. Co-starring alongside Lee Min-ho, the romantic comedy follows the unexpected romance between Gong Ryong and Korean-American Astronaut Eve Kim. The director is Park Shin-woo, known for "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," and the release details are yet to be announced.
TvN presents "Queen of Tears," a star-studded series featuring Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Ji-won, and Park Sung-hoon. Scheduled for the first half of 2024, the romance series explores the complexities of marriage within the conglomerate Queens Group. Directors Kim Hee-won and Jang Young-woo, along with writer Park Ji-eun, bring their expertise to the production.
Additionally, two highly awaited sequels are in the pipeline for 2024. Netflix's global hit, "Squid Game," gears up for its second season, featuring a new cast, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-guen, and Park Gyu-young. SBS also announced the return of the second season of "The Fiery Priest," a comedy-action series scheduled for the latter half of the year. The show follows the collaborative efforts of a priest, detective, and prosecutor to solve a murder linked to a powerful cartel.
