"Korea Spotlight @Mexico" showcased the vibrant world of K-pop in the capital city, marking the first appearance of the "Korea Spotlight" series in the country. The series, organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to promote K-pop on a global scale and provide international platforms for Korean artists.

Having commenced in June in Kazakhstan, the series has since traveled to several countries, including Germany, Australia, and Japan. Mexico, with its significant K-pop following, hosted the event for the first time on Tuesday.

The concert featured performances by five K-pop acts: Lacuna, SURL, W24, Say Sue Me, and pH-1. Notably, tickets for the event sold out within three minutes of becoming available, according to Kocca.

In addition to the music showcase, Kocca conducted a business event as part of the program, incorporating workshops and networking sessions. This initiative aimed to provide Korean artists with opportunities to connect with the local music industry and engage with K-pop enthusiasts.

Jo Hyun-rae, the director of the Korea Creative Content Agency, expressed gratitude for the warm reception in Central and South America, noting the enthusiastic response from fans despite it being the inaugural K-pop showcase in Mexico. He emphasized the continuation of such programs, like "Korea Spotlight," into the next year to facilitate Korean musicians' entry into overseas markets.
