A group of 81 students from North Bangkok University participated in an immersive Korean cultural experience at the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) Thailand on September 16. The educational field trip was designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to various aspects of Korean culture through interactive activities and exhibitions.
The highlight of the visit was a dynamic dance workshop featuring the popular song 'Soda Pop' from the hit Netflix animation series KPOP Demon Hunters. The animated series has been gaining significant global popularity due to its infectious beat and distinctive choreography, making it an engaging entry point for students to experience contemporary Korean entertainment culture. Students actively participated in learning the dance moves, creating an energetic and fun atmosphere during the workshop.
In addition to the dance workshop, the visiting students explored the Production Design: Scene Architects Build On-Screen World exhibition, which is currently being showcased at the Korean Cultural Center. This exhibition provided students with insights into the creative processes behind Korean visual media production, offering a deeper understanding of the country's thriving entertainment industry.
The cultural immersion experience extended to traditional Korean activities, where students engaged with authentic Korean games and customs. They participated in playing traditional Korean games including Tuho, a ring-tossing game that has been enjoyed for centuries, Ddakjichigi, a traditional paper-flipping game, and Jegichagi, a Korean shuttlecock kicking game similar to hacky sack. These activities allowed students to connect with Korea's rich historical traditions while having fun in a group setting.
To complete their cultural journey, students had the opportunity to try on hanbok, Korea's traditional clothing, and take commemorative photographs. This hands-on experience with traditional Korean attire provided students with a tangible connection to Korean heritage and created lasting visual memories of their cultural exploration.
The Korean Cultural Center expressed their sincere hopes that this comprehensive field trip experience will serve as a wonderful and lasting memory for all participating students, fostering greater appreciation and understanding of Korean culture among the Thai university community.
