Singer-songwriter Oohyo is set to release a new album titled "Oohyo Returns" on Monday. This extended play marks Oohyo's first independent project, as stated by the album's distributor, Mirrorball Music.

"Oohyo Returns" serves as a celebration of Oohyo's ninth debut anniversary and offers a collection of tracks that blend both familiar and fresh sounds. The album includes revised versions of three previously released songs: "Teddy Bear," "Perhaps Maybe," and "Reggae," alongside two new compositions, "World's Quietest DJ" and "I Give You Love."

Collaborating on the reimagined versions of "Teddy Bear," "Perhaps Maybe," and "Reggae" are guitarist Lee Neung-ryong and drummer Lee Hae-in, who initially performed with Oohyo at the 2022 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, where these three songs were introduced for the first time.

Notably, renowned international musicians contributed to the project. Film music composer Paul Leonard Morgan provided the string orchestration for "Perhaps Maybe Returns," while guitarist and producer Joe Reinhart and Victor Le Bourhis participated in the mixing of several tracks.

Oohyo, a widely recognized musician in South Korea, gained attention with her debut EP "Girl Sense" in 2014 and subsequently released her first LP, "Adventure," the following year. Her second LP, "Far From the Madding City," was unveiled in April 2019, marking the final album produced under her former label, Munhwain.

Having parted ways with Munhwain in early 2020, Oohyo has released multiple singles, collaborated with fellow musicians, and made appearances on television programs.

In a statement from Mirrorball Music, Oohyo conveyed a special message, dedicating her new album to individuals who aspire to balance consistency and innovation while constantly striving for self-improvement.

"Oohyo Returns" is scheduled for release at 6 p.m. on Monday.
