The Moulin aux Livres library in Brives-Charensac has unveiled its fall programming schedule, featuring a two-month exhibition of realistic paintings by artist Armel Jullien. The exhibition, which has already begun, will remain on display through Saturday, October 31, during the library's regular operating hours.
The fall schedule includes a diverse range of cultural activities designed to engage the local community. A reading circle will meet on Monday, September 15 at 8:00 PM, with free admission available upon registration. Additionally, a musical listening club will gather on Friday, September 19 at 6:30 PM at the Vals library branch, also free of charge.
Poetry enthusiasts can attend a special literary encounter with Henri Rodier focusing on Louis Aragon, covering the first part of his life from 1897 to 1932. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with free admission and no registration required. As part of the Jazz en Velay festival, Laurent Brun will conduct a writing workshop on Friday, September 26 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, free with advance registration.
October programming features the "Biblis en folie" day with a creative workshop on Saturday, October 4 from 10:00 AM to noon, requiring advance reservation. A special science-themed workshop called "Smart Cars" will be presented by Campus 26 in partnership with the Crozatier Museum as part of Science Festival celebrations. This hands-on session will teach children aged 8 to 12 how to build, program using Scratch software, and test intelligent vehicles. Two sessions are available on Wednesday, October 8: from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM or from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, both free with registration required.
The programming extends into the fall holiday period with story readings for children ages 2 and up scheduled for Wednesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 29 at 10:30 AM.
