In a highly anticipated comeback, K-pop sensation Stray Kids, known for their three consecutive Billboard 200 chart-topping albums, unveiled their latest EP, "Rock-Star," on Friday. The eight-member group, whose last album, "Five-Star," enjoyed significant success, returned with a renewed charisma, embracing a rockstar persona.

During a press conference, the members, donned in simple yet classy black suits, revealed that "Rock-Star" is a continuation of the themes explored in "Five-Star," with a deliberate shift toward a more relaxed and celebratory mood. The album, consisting of eight tracks, aims to showcase the group's untamed energy and diverse musical facets.

Stray Kids, led by the producer trio 3Racha (Bang Chan, Han, and Changbin), emphasized the interconnectedness of their albums. Bang Chan highlighted the evolution from "Five-Star," which emphasized the group's unique colors, to "Rock-Star," focusing on untamed energy. The title track, "Lalalala," produced by 3Racha, echoes themes of joy and the enjoyment of life.

Alluding to the success of their previous albums, Stray Kids acknowledged the role of 3Racha in shaping their unique musical identity. The members expressed gratitude for the opportunity to convey their sincerity through music, with an increasing number of members contributing to songwriting.

Notably, Hyunjin, known for his exceptional dancing skills, made his songwriting debut in the B-side track "Cover Me." The album also features tracks like "Megaverse," "Blind Spot," "Comflex," "Leave," a Korean version of "Social Path (Feat. LiSA)," and a rock rendition of "Lalalala."

Stray Kids' unwavering teamwork was evident in the collaborative decision-making process for the album. Despite 3Racha leading the production, all eight members actively participated in shaping the musical direction.

Reflecting on their breakout year in the global music scene, Stray Kids headlined Lollapalooza Paris and made their debut at the MTV Video Music Awards, where they won the Best K-pop award for "S-Class." Their previous album, "Five-Star," achieved a third consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard 200, solidifying their global chart dominance.

The group's success extended to a five-city dome tour in Asia, including a performance at Seoul's prestigious Gocheok Sky Dome. Stray Kids expressed gratitude to their fans, Stay, for filling up these large venues and supporting their journey.

Amidst the pressure of their achievements, the members emphasized the importance of teamwork in overcoming challenges. Changbin highlighted the irreplaceable synergy they share, driving them forward as a united front.

While acknowledging their Billboard achievements, Stray Kids emphasized that their goal is not merely chart success but to invigorate and uplift listeners through their music. Looking ahead, they expressed a desire for more musical diversity, promising to explore new genres and return with even greater music.

Stray Kids' "Rock-Star" EP was released at 2 p.m. on Friday, marking another chapter in their remarkable musical journey.
