In an exciting development, Jungkook of BTS is all set to unveil a remix of his inaugural solo single "Seven" this Friday, in collaboration with renowned Swedish DJ Alesso, as announced by BigHit Music on Thursday.
The remix version of "Seven" is poised to present an inventive reinterpretation of the original track, infusing it with the electrifying sounds of progressive house music. This musical endeavor marks yet another remarkable chapter in Jungkook's artistic journey, showcasing his willingness to experiment across genres.
Since its initial release a month ago, "Seven" has undergone an impressive evolution, with no less than nine distinct versions available to listeners. This array encompasses not only the clean and explicit iterations, but also intriguing variations such as the "Festival Mix" and the "Nightfall Mix."
However, amidst the waves of success and creativity, recent claims that "Seven" bears striking similarities to the girl group Fin.K.L's 1999 song "Time of Mask" emerged. Dismissing these allegations, BigHit Music firmly asserted that "Seven" was the creation of five international composers, effectively eliminating any connection to the Korean song from nearly a quarter-century ago. The agency further underscored that the perceived resemblances between the two songs fail to meet the criteria that define plagiarism, labeling them as "one-sided opinions."
The allegations were initially raised by Yang Joon-young, the composer of "Time of Mask," and subsequently addressed by BigHit Music in a press release.
In its relatively short time since release, "Seven" has carved a notable niche for itself on the global music stage. The track's unwavering popularity led it to secure the coveted top spot on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart for a consecutive five weeks. Notably, it also triumphed on the Daily Top Songs Global chart, maintaining its reign for an impressive 39 days.
As Jungkook continues to contribute to BTS's enduring success and simultaneously explores solo ventures, the anticipated remix release with Alesso adds another layer of excitement to his ever-evolving artistic journey.
