South Korean police have reportedly submitted information related to the individual to court, following IU's legal battle to address what her representatives assert as defamation through groundless acts of slander.

After investigators cleared IU of plagiarism allegations in September, her agency, Edam Entertainment, proceeded to file charges against the individual who raised suspicions. The 31-year-old singer is seeking 30 million won ($23,000) in compensation for damages allegedly caused by the accusations.

Edam Entertainment stated that they are currently verifying the information of the accuser in compliance with the law, refraining from disclosing specific details at this time. The agency emphasized its commitment to not tolerate any attacks against IU.

In May, IU faced accusations of plagiarizing six of her songs. However, legal authorities determined that the allegations did not warrant criminal charges. Notably, IU was the singer for all six songs but participated in composing only one, which was not included in the copyright violation allegations.
