Four members of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS—RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V—are set to commence their mandatory military duty next month, continuing the commitment of their fellow bandmates. All seven members, including Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, are now actively fulfilling their national defense obligation.

Jin initiated his military service in December of the previous year, followed by J-Hope in April and Suga in September. Currently, Jin and J-Hope are serving as assistant instructors at a military recruit training center, contributing to their national service. Suga is undertaking an alternative military service.

Compulsory military duty applies to all able-bodied men in South Korea aged 18 to 28.

According to industry sources, RM and V are scheduled to enlist on December 11, while Jimin and Jungkook will follow on December 12. Although Big Hit Music, the group's agency, refrained from disclosing the specific enlistment dates, it confirmed on November 22 that the remaining four members were taking steps to fulfill their national service obligations.

All four members—RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V—are expected to complete their mandatory service by July 2025, aligning with the group's promise to fans for a full unit return in that year.

The upcoming enlistments raise anticipation for BTS's resumption of activities in 2025. Jungkook, in a prerecorded video during the 2023 MAMA Awards on Tuesday, expressed confidence in the group's return, stating, "We are confident that we will come back better than ever. We hope you stay healthy and happy until then."
