Chaeyoung, a member of the popular K-pop girl group TWICE, has temporarily suspended all her activities due to health issues, her management company announced Thursday. JYP Entertainment made the announcement through an official notice posted on the group's official channels, titled "TWICE Chaeyoung's health status and future activities."

According to JYP Entertainment, Chaeyoung was recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and has been resting under medical supervision. Following additional consultations and medical examinations, doctors determined that she would require an extended recovery period. Vasovagal syncope is a medical condition that causes temporary loss of consciousness due to a sudden decrease in blood flow to the brain, typically triggered by severe stress or mental and physical tension.

The condition is recognized as the most common type of fainting and can occur frequently even among young, healthy individuals without any underlying medical conditions. After thorough discussions with medical professionals and the agency, Chaeyoung made the difficult decision to halt her activities temporarily to focus on proper treatment, stability, and adequate rest.

JYP Entertainment stated that the primary goal is for Chaeyoung to rest and recover completely through the end of the year. "Because health must come first, she will take part in upcoming activities only when absolutely necessary or will be unable to participate," the agency explained in their official statement. As a result of this decision, Chaeyoung will not be joining TWICE for their upcoming world tour concerts scheduled in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.

The agency also revealed that Chaeyoung is deeply disappointed about the temporary hiatus and has expressed sincere apologies to fans for her absence from various fan events and world tour stops since late October. "We will provide full support so that Chaeyoung can return to fans in good health as soon as possible and ask for your warm encouragement for her recovery," JYP Entertainment concluded in their statement, requesting understanding and support from fans during this challenging time.
