SOOP announced that the finals for the 2025 SOOP Challengers StarCraft League Spring (SCS SPRING) will take place on Saturday, January 25, starting at 7 PM. The league serves as a secondary competition under the SOOP StarCraft League (SSL), providing a platform for both professional and amateur players to showcase their skills.
This year’s tournament features updated entry criteria, allowing any player with fewer than 300 SSL points to participate. The change broadened accessibility and attracted a diverse pool of talent. Approximately 200 players competed in the online preliminaries held on January 18 and 19, with fierce battles culminating in four players advancing to the semifinals: Jin Gyu Yoon (Z), Sung Heum Bae (Z), Min Chul Jang (P), and Tae Soo Bang (Z).
The semifinals will feature best-of-three single-elimination matches. The first match will pit Jin Gyu Yoon against Sung Heum Bae, followed by Min Chul Jang facing Tae Soo Bang. The winners of these two matches will progress to the finals to compete for the championship.
The competition will be played on maps Radeon, Dominator, and Déjà Vu. With a total prize pool of 1 million KRW, the champion will not only receive the prize money but also secure a direct spot in the 2025 SSL SPRING main tournament.
Fans can watch the event live or access VODs through the official SOOP esports page. SOOP has emphasized its commitment to fostering competitive opportunities for both professional and amateur players by continuing to host StarCraft tournaments that unite the community.
