K-pop boy group Seventeen has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in the genre's history, with their 11th EP, "Seventeenth Heaven," selling over 5,090,000 copies during its first week following its release. Pledis Entertainment, the group's agency, confirmed this achievement based on data from Hanteo Chart, a leading local album sales tracker.

This remarkable feat establishes "Seventeenth Heaven" as the first K-pop album to exceed 5 million copies sold in its debut week, surpassing the previous record set by Stray Kids with "5-Star," which sold approximately 4.62 million copies, and Seventeen's own record of 4.55 million copies for "FML."

First-week album sales are considered a significant indicator of an artist's popularity and the size of their dedicated fanbase.

The agency noted that Seventeen stands as the sole K-pop act to have sold more than 3 million copies of an album on its release day and the first to surpass the 5 million copies mark within the first week for a single album.

"God of Music," the EP's main track, debuted at the top of Melon's Top 100 songs chart, South Korea's largest music streaming service, upon its release.

Furthermore, the group's cumulative domestic album sales have reached an impressive 11 million copies within the first nine months of this year, as reported by the agency.
