There was an English painter who vividly depicted scenes of the Joseon Dynasty.

Elizabeth Keith began her travels in Korea in 1919, following her sister who ran a magazine.

From then on, she began capturing the landscapes of Joseon through writing and painting.

Through her words and paintings, the artist recorded everything from Joseon's everyday life to key moments in the independence movement.

Her works remained largely unknown for a long time until they were discovered by Song Young-dal, a Korean American professor, in an old bookstore in the United States.

Her works were not revealed to the public until 2006, and they are now regarded as important traces of Korean history.
