Suga of BTS has achieved a significant milestone with his solo album "D-Day," reaching 900 million streams on Spotify, according to an announcement from his label, Big Hit Music, on Thursday.
This achievement marks Suga’s second album to hit this milestone, following his 2020 mixtape "D-2." He is the first Korean solo artist to have multiple albums reach this level of streaming success. Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the first Asian rapper to surpass 4 billion plays on Spotify, including both his solo work and his contributions as a member of BTS.
"D-Day," Suga's first solo studio album, was released in April of the previous year. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, while the focus track "Haegeum" reached No. 58 on the Hot 100. The album reappeared on the Billboard 200 chart on July 20, ranking No. 169, thanks to strong sales of its vinyl editions.
