ATELIER AKI, specialist on Korea Contemporary Art, is located on the one of the most rising art district, Seoungsu-dong in Seoul. ATELIER AKI has committed to supporting Korean emerging artists and planning various projects for established contemporary artists since 2010. The gallery has continued its effort on presenting their works both in internal and external art scene. Particularly, ATELIER AKI is specialized in consulting for corporate collection and art marketing.
Recently, the gallery has worked with Parkview green, Salvatore Ferragamo and Daum Kakao. Through those collaborations, the gallery tried to provide a contact point between art and society. Moreover, ATELIER AKI has shown and designed unique contents of art marketing for companies, museums, and public areas. Art marketing clients include Daum kakao of Korea, Ferragamo of Italy, Versace Home of Italy, and Hyundai Department Store, Korea. It has shown great exhibitions to present exceptional Korean artworks and new artworks by emerging artists for a short time.
For example, in 2010 the exhibition directed under the title of ‘The Lamp of The East’ was shown to Chennai and Mumbai in India in order to introduce Korean contemporary artists to the international art world. Also, ATELIER AKI has organized solo exhibitions of the most notable Korean artists throughout the world such as KyoungTack Hong (2012), MyungHo Lee (2012) and KiSoo Kwon (2013).
The gallery is implementing the artist representation system in order to provide emerging and undiscovered artists with excellent exhibition opportunities along with an outstanding environment for artists to work in. ATELIER AKI has been using this system to expand its influence worldwide and work on various collaborations with domestic and international galleries.
ATELIER AKI has always endeavored to explore new grounds that have previously been overlooked by other institutions in Korea. The gallery promotes hybridization and diversity in the regionally localized art world through its active interactions with artists and companies. Through these efforts, ATELIER AKI has been swiftly expanding its potential and influence.
