Taeyong, a member of the popular K-pop group NCT, is set to release his first solo album early next month, according to a statement from label SM Entertainment on Thursday. The announcement comes as a surprise to fans of the group, as Taeyong will be the first member of NCT to drop a full-length solo album.

While other members of the band, such as Mark, Taeil, Jaehyun, and Doyoung, have released solo singles in the past, Taeyong's upcoming album will be his first major solo project. He previously put out “Long Flight” as part of SM Entertainment's singles project in 2019.

Taeyong has been with NCT since the group's debut in 2016, and has become known for his songwriting and charismatic performances. He has also been a member of NCT 127, one of the subunits of NCT.

According to a source, Taeyong is currently filming a music video for his upcoming album. Details about the album's title, tracklist, and concept have not yet been revealed, but fans are eagerly anticipating its release.

In addition to Taeyong's solo album, NCT 127 recently released a new track titled “Sunny Road” online on Monday. The song was originally released in Japan and was used as an ending theme for the drama “Play It Cool, Guys,” in which bandmate Yuta starred as the male lead.

NCT has become one of the biggest K-pop groups in the world, with a massive following both in Korea and internationally. The group is known for its unique concept of having an unlimited number of members, with new members joining and leaving the group as needed for different subunits and projects.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, NCT has continued to release new music and connect with fans through virtual concerts and online events. Taeyong's upcoming solo album is sure to be a highly anticipated release for both fans of NCT and K-pop fans worldwide.
