A young graffiti artist in Rouen, France, is making his mark by creating vibrant murals that capture the attention of passersby and breathe new life into the city's dull walls. Cosmoh, whose colorful works are increasingly attracting public attention, has established himself as a distinctive voice in the local street art scene, most notably with his artwork at the foot of the Joan of Arc Bridge.
Passionate about drawing since childhood, Cosmoh gradually became interested in the world of graffiti. He initially focused on portraits as a way to acquire certain techniques that he could later use to benefit his art. Over time, he developed a personal vision for his work that goes beyond simple decoration.
Cosmoh came up with an idea to create more personal graffiti pieces, aimed at making the atmosphere less oppressive and challenging established norms. "Through my creations, I want to challenge and question passersby," he explains. His approach centers on provoking thought and encouraging viewers to see their urban environment in a new light.
Armed with brushes and rollers, Cosmoh brings to life quirky characters with varied textures. His goal is to offer something different that the public isn't used to seeing every day. "I only propose my works. After that, it's up to the public to form an opinion," the artist states, emphasizing the interactive nature of street art.
Near the Joan of Arc Bridge on the left bank quays, visitors can see what Cosmoh describes as one of his "biggest projects." He was invited to create an entire fresco in his own style to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the A31 collective. "This fresco is a real honor for me, a gigantic format visible to everyone," he shares with enthusiasm about the large-scale commission.
Beyond his individual artistic practice, Cosmoh has expanded his passion into education over the past few years. He now offers workshops with leisure centers and associations, typically introducing young people to the world of graffiti through discussion sessions before moving on to practical application. These educational sessions culminate in creating frescoes on the walls of local facilities, allowing participants to experience the art form firsthand.
Cosmoh's work represents a growing movement of street artists who are transforming urban spaces while engaging with their communities. His art can be followed on his Instagram account and personal website, where he continues to document his evolving artistic journey and community involvement throughout Rouen.
