NCT Wish has officially released their much-anticipated debut mini-album, “Steady,” on Tuesday. The seven-track EP is led by the title song “Steady,” a sophisticated house track blending UK garage and Jersey club beats, reflecting the group’s desire to forever cherish the miraculous journey they’ve shared with their fans.

Group member Sion explained that the lyrics of the song are trendy and relatable, especially for Generation Z, making it an anthem of youthful energy and adventure. Veteran K-pop producer Kenzie, who has produced numerous chart-topping hits, was behind the title track’s production, ensuring a polished and impactful sound.

The music video for “Steady” captures the excitement and dreamlike wonder of first love, with cinematic visual effects enhancing its nostalgic, yet fresh atmosphere. The dynamic choreography, featuring energetic hand motions and intricate footwork, embodies the group’s youthful vibrancy. "You can feel our energy in every step of the performance," said group member Ryo.

In addition to “Steady,” the EP includes six other tracks: “Dunk Shot,” “3 Minutes,” “On & On,” “Supercute,” “Skate,” and the Korean version of “Hands Up.” The band has also produced music videos for two of the B-side tracks, “Dunk Shot” and “3 Minutes.” Describing the concept behind the “3 Minutes” video, Ryo said, “It’s about confessing our love three minutes before the apocalypse. We can stop the world from ending if our crush likes our social media post."

NCT Wish has also rolled out a variety of social media content to promote the album’s release, further connecting with their fanbase. “We had a lot of fun making the videos, and we hope our fans enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed filming,” added Sion.

BoA, the K-pop legend who played a significant role in launching NCT Wish, also contributed to the album. According to Ryo, BoA adjusted the choreography for “Steady” to highlight the group’s strengths and even suggested the addition of a rap section, which was not part of the original version.

The album has already recorded an impressive 800,000 preorders, surpassing the group’s previous record of 630,000 preorders for their single “Songbird,” released in July. Looking ahead, NCT Wish is preparing for their first Asia tour, set to begin in Japan this November. Member Riku expressed the group's ambition: "Our next goal is to hold standalone concerts at big stadiums and domes around the world."
