K-pop group NMIXX has made a substantial charitable contribution in response to recent wildfires that devastated parts of Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces in South Korea. On March 28, the group donated 60 million won (approximately USD 45,000) to World Vision Korea to assist children and residents affected by the disaster.
The donation comes in the wake of a massive wildfire that originated in Uiseong County on March 22 and rapidly spread across four municipalities. The fire scorched an area equivalent to 63,245 soccer fields, turning vast portions of the region into ashes. Although the main fires were reportedly extinguished within a week, rekindling incidents in areas such as Andong and Uiseong prompted further emergency response measures.
World Vision announced that the funds will be used for emergency relief, including the provision of essential supplies, daily necessities, living assistance, and replacement of household appliances and furniture. The organization emphasized that timely contributions such as NMIXX's can significantly bolster recovery efforts for displaced families.
In an official statement, NMIXX conveyed their support for both the victims and those risking their lives to combat the flames. “We hope for the safety of everyone working on the front lines. We also wish that our donation can offer even the slightest support to those facing hardship,” the group stated.
The gesture reflects NMIXX's growing presence not only in the entertainment industry but also as public figures committed to social responsibility. The donation was made independently and without external prompting, indicating a proactive stance toward community involvement.
The philanthropic act coincided with the release of their fourth mini-album Fe3O4: Forward, which dropped on March 17.
