Rookie K-pop group ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) has solidified its remarkable popularity in Japan with a series of impressive achievements. According to Tower Records Japan’s recently announced 2024 Bestselling K-POP TOP 20, the group’s debut Japanese single, Yurayura -Unmei no Hana- (ゆらゆら -運命の花-), claimed the top spot, further underscoring their growing influence.

Adding to their success, ZB1’s Korean releases also made notable appearances on the list. Their fourth mini-album Cinema Paradise ranked fifth, while their third mini-album You Had Me at HELLO secured the ninth position, highlighting their widespread appeal across both markets.

Spotify Japan’s annual rankings for 2024 also showcased ZB1’s dominance. The group ranked fifth on the list of "Most Shared Artists on SNS in Japan," reflecting their massive social media buzz. Their track Feel the POP, the title song from their third mini-album, was ranked tenth among "Most Shared Songs on SNS in Japan." Remarkably, ZB1 was the only K-pop act to break into the list, further emphasizing their unique position in the market.

ZB1 has ignited what fans are calling a "ZB1 fever" across Japan. Their debut in March was marked by a memorable performance at K-Arena Yokohama, accompanied by a fan concert that drew enthusiastic support. More recently, the group completed five sold-out tour concerts in Aichi and Kanagawa, drawing a total audience of approximately 60,000. This achievement underscores ZB1’s exceptional ticket power and growing fanbase in the region.

Their commercial success is equally impressive. Yurayura -Unmei no Hana- achieved half-million-seller status within its first week of release, earning a "Double Platinum" certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The certification is awarded to works with over 500,000 units shipped. Additionally, the single topped Oricon’s Weekly Single, Weekly Combined Single, and Monthly Single charts, cementing ZB1’s status as a leading force in Japan’s K-pop scene.

Looking ahead, ZEROBASEONE is set to release their first Japanese EP, PREZENT, on January 29, 2025. The EP will feature six tracks, including four new Japanese originals—Now or Never, Only One Story, Firework, and Hana—as well as Japanese versions of their Korean hits Feel the POP and Good So Bad. This release is expected to showcase the group’s diverse musicality and strengthen their foothold in Japan.

With a combination of chart-topping releases, record-breaking sales, and sold-out concerts, ZEROBASEONE has firmly established itself as one of the most promising K-pop groups in Japan. Their upcoming activities are poised to further expand their influence and captivate a global audience.
