Artist Monika Flaig will showcase her diverse collection of paintings and artwork at the Heritage House in Tennenbronn over two upcoming Sundays. The exhibitions, scheduled for November 30 and December 7 from 2 to 5 PM each day, represent the latest in a series of local artist showcases organized by the Heritage House group.
The initiative to feature individual artists stems from the success of the Heritage House book "Tennenbronn - The 100 Years Since the Merger," which featured artwork from local Tennenbronn artists at the beginning of each chapter. However, the vast collection of paintings created by local artists out of pure joy for creative work, mostly without commercial intent, could not be comprehensively included in the publication. This inspired the Heritage House group to offer a platform for individual artists to display their work.
The artist showcase series began a year ago with tremendous success, featuring works by Christel Götz and Gertrud Kirsch. Now, Flaig will personally attend both exhibition days to provide information about her works and answer visitors' questions about her artistic process and inspiration.
Flaig, who worked professionally as a technical draftsperson, has always been actively involved in creative endeavors alongside her career, resulting in an extensive collection of artistic works. Her repertoire consists primarily of acrylic paintings, but she has also created works using chalk, colored pencils, and graphite pencil drawings.
What sets Flaig apart is her resourcefulness, which extends beyond just the subject matter to include the medium itself. She paints on virtually anything that can be painted: wood, old windows, drawers, watering cans, barrel lids, and similar objects. Her motifs are diverse, featuring mainly landscapes with many scenes depicting Tennenbronn itself.
Her artistic range also includes portraits, animals, flowers, culinary subjects, and modern Black Forest art. Flaig has gained significant recognition for her stage backdrops and wall hangings, which have been prominently displayed at anniversaries of the weightlifting club and the Erzknappen carnival association, as well as at First Communion ceremonies in the Catholic church. The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to view the breadth of work from this versatile local artist in an intimate setting.
