Barcelona-based design studio Atelier Cala has unveiled detailed renderings and specifications for its interior design concept of Waves, a 93-meter Mediterranean-inspired superyacht. The studio collaborated with Daroca Design, which handled the vessel's sleek exterior design that was first presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023.

"With Waves, our ambition was to create an onboard world where the timeless beauty of Daroca's exterior design flows seamlessly into interiors that enhance well-being, foster intimacy, and celebrate the joy of being at sea," explained Arnau Salvadó, founder of Atelier Cala. The design philosophy centers around three core values: well-being, purposeful technology, and research-driven design principles.

According to the design studio's press release, every aspect of the yacht's interior has been carefully considered through a research-based approach that harmonizes neuroarchitecture insights with distinctive Mediterranean sensibilities. This comprehensive methodology guides everything from spatial distribution and material selection to sophisticated lighting design throughout the vessel.

The yacht features expansive guest lounges and private wellness areas equipped with advanced therapeutic technologies. The staterooms have been specifically designed to achieve an optimal balance between privacy and social connection. Natural textures and abundant natural light create a calm and serene atmosphere throughout the interior spaces.

One of the most innovative features is found in the main salon, where guests can choose between gazing out toward the horizon or turning inward for intimate conversation. This flexibility is achieved through adjustable sofa backrests that easily shift the seating orientation to accommodate different social dynamics and preferences.

The master suite represents a contemporary retreat where nature and technology converge seamlessly. Advanced features include dynamic LED lighting systems and a programmable skylight designed to adapt to the body's natural circadian rhythms. The suite showcases a symmetrical layout with separate his-and-hers bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, while floor-to-ceiling windows provide uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.

A standout feature of the concept is its dedicated wellness area, which combines cutting-edge lighting technology with warm, organic materials such as teak and innovative 3D-printed clay elements. Designed with privacy as a paramount concern, the wellness space is divided into two distinct zones and offers a comprehensive range of amenities including a sauna, Jacuzzi with cold plunge capabilities, and specialized red-light therapy equipment, all crafted to promote both relaxation and recovery while at sea.

"We believe luxury is not defined by excess, but by the quality of the experience it creates for the people who live it," concluded Salvadó, emphasizing the studio's philosophy of creating meaningful and transformative yacht experiences rather than simply impressive spaces.
