A heartwarming story unfolded when two children discovered a message in a bottle on a beach in Seine-Maritime, France, sent by a passionate photographer from Calvados who wanted to share his love for marine life photography with others.

Jean-Louis Perrin, an amateur photographer fascinated by sea animals, had the unique idea of transmitting his passion by launching bottles into the sea with personal messages inside. The photographer, who regularly ventures out to sea with his camera to capture marine wildlife, wrote in his bottles: "My name is Jean-Louis Perrin, amateur photographer, lover of the sea and the lights of Normandy. If the current has led you to this bottle, contact me."

Perrin's dedication to marine photography takes him on treasure hunts at sea, camera in hand, capturing spectacular moments with dolphins and other marine life. During one of his expeditions just a few kilometers off the coast of Courseulles-sur-Mer in Calvados, he found himself navigating through a pod of dolphins. "A dolphin that comes within ten meters of the boat, that we get in close-up or that makes a three-meter jump in front of us, it's really nice to show that to people," Perrin enthusiastically explained. "More than one person would want to be in our place, to see dolphins so close to the coast and have the sea permanently like that, it's great!"

The photographer's creative approach to sharing his passion proved successful when one of his bottles was discovered by twin children on a beach in Seine-Maritime several weeks after being launched. The children, along with their mother, immediately contacted Perrin after finding the bottle. The discovery created an emotional moment for everyone involved, with Perrin noting, "They were so happy, you can see it when they break the bottle, it's great, it makes you happy! The kids were even crying... I would have liked to be in their place."

Following the discovery, Perrin visited the two brothers and presented them with a book containing his most beautiful photographs, sharing his passion for marine photography and the stunning wildlife he captures off the Norman coast. The photographer's connection to the sea and his ability to immortalize the marine animals he encounters daily along the Côte de Nacre has become his way of spreading appreciation for ocean life.

Perrin's bottle project continues, as he hasn't finished sharing his passion with others. Several more bottles are currently floating somewhere in the ocean, each carrying his message and contact information, waiting to be discovered by other fortunate beachcombers who might be inspired by his love for marine photography and the beautiful waters of Normandy.
