The highly anticipated Nicer Tuesdays creative event series is returning to New York City this September with an exceptional lineup of speakers from the worlds of graphic design, photography, publishing, and collage art. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 9th at the School of Visual Arts Theatre in Chelsea, featuring talks from renowned professionals and an exclusive Q&A session with legendary graphic designer Michael Bierut.

The evening will showcase presentations from photographer and art director Andrew B. Myers, Bylines creative director Madeline Montoya, and emerging collage artist Tina Tona. The highlight of the event will be a conversation between Michael Bierut, a partner at the prestigious design firm Pentagram since 1990, and Elizabeth Goodspeed, Its Nice That's US editor-at-large.

Michael Bierut, who recently announced he will be stepping back from his role at Pentagram, brings decades of experience as a graphic designer, design critic, and educator. He has authored several influential books including "How To," "Seventy Nine Short Essays On Design," and "Now You See It." His iconic 100 Day Project has inspired countless designers worldwide, and his candid insights into the graphic design industry promise to make this Q&A session particularly compelling.

Andrew B. Myers, a Brooklyn-based photographer and art director, has built an impressive client roster including Apple, Dolce & Gabbana, The Guardian, and Netflix. The Webby award-winning creative is known for his sublime compositions, dry wit, and emotive color palettes. During his presentation, Myers will offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of his photography work and explain his process of handbuilding models for in-studio shoots.

Madeline Montoya, a Texas-born, New York-based creative director, will share her passion for editorial design in her role as art director for Bloomberg Businessweek and creative director of the independent magazine Byline. Her talk will illuminate the creative process behind Byline, showcasing how publications can serve as playgrounds for brand design while maintaining both holistic vision and adaptability.

Tina Tona, an LA-based photo-collage artist, creates vibrant works that explore diasporic Black expression through magazines and found ephemera. Her pieces, characterized by saturated colors and organized visual noise, create meaningful connections between materials while celebrating cultural influences with validity and dignity. Tona will introduce attendees to her dynamic work and highlight the projects that have shaped her artistic practice.

The event will be held at SVA Theatre, located at 333 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10011. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with talks beginning around 7:00 PM. This seated event encourages early arrival to secure good spots and enjoy complimentary drinks for those of legal age. Love Corn will provide snacks throughout the evening, and the event is made possible through partnership with GF Smith.

Attendees should note that photography and filming may occur for marketing and promotional purposes. Those preferring not to be photographed should speak with the event team. For disability access accommodations, interested parties should contact hellonicertuesdays.com to arrange assistance with the venue team. Tickets are available through Eventbrite for this exclusive creative gathering.
