In an exciting announcement, cable channel Genie TV is set to kick off the summer with the premiere of its eagerly awaited suspense thriller series, "Lies Hidden in My Garden." The director, Jung Ji-hyun, and the stellar cast exuded enthusiasm and anticipation during a press conference held at Stanford Hotel Seoul in Mapo-gu, Seoul on Monday.

Unlike many conventional thrillers that rely on sensational and shocking scenes, "Lies Hidden in My Garden" captivates viewers with its enigmatic aura and uncanny atmosphere, as emphasized by actor Lim Ji-yeon. Renowned for winning the hearts of drama fans in the popular revenge series "The Glory," Lim portrays a pregnant woman who becomes a victim of domestic violence in this gripping new series.

Lim expressed that her role in "Lies Hidden in My Garden" allowed her to delve into the character of Sang-sun, free from the pressure of showcasing a different side of herself as an actor, given that she filmed the series prior to the release of "The Glory." She explained, "Initially, I was intrigued to discover who Sang-eun was. As I immersed myself in the script, I simply wished to become Sang-eun. After reading the original novel, I felt confident in my decision to star in this series."

Kim Tae-hee, Lim's co-star, who makes a highly anticipated return to the small screen after three years since "Hi Bye, Mama!" (2020), shared Lim's sentiments about the unique charms of the series' individual characters. Despite being unfamiliar with the thriller genre, Kim found the storyline exhilarating. She confessed that after reading the script for the first episode, her curiosity surged, eager to unravel what lay ahead. Kim revealed, "Simply imagining myself portraying Joo-ran made my heart race."

Director Jung Ji-hyun, celebrated for his hit coming-of-age series "Twenty Five Twenty One," poured his utmost effort into bringing the script's intricacies to life on the screen. Acknowledging that "Lies Hidden in My Garden" relied less on dialogue and more on expressing the characters' psychological states and emotions through visual cues, the director meticulously employed various camera angles, symbolic props, and facial expressions to convey the story's essence.

Highly anticipated by both local and global drama fans, "Lies Hidden in My Garden" has already pre-sold its distribution rights to 190 countries, setting the stage for a widespread global reception. Adapted from the novel "A House with A Yard" by acclaimed author Kim Jin-young, the series revolves around Joo-ran (portrayed by Kim), an ordinary housewife whose life takes an unexpected turn after encountering a peculiar scent in her backyard and crossing paths with Sang-eun (played by Lim).

The thrilling narrative and the pairing of Lim and acclaimed actor Kim have sparked immense anticipation, with "Lies Hidden in My Garden" poised to captivate audiences around the world.
