As the month of June unfolds, viewers can expect a captivating array of new series across a range of genres, ranging from gripping action thrillers to heartwarming romantic comedies. Netflix, in particular, is set to launch its latest Korean original series, "Bloodhounds," on June 9, while local networks also present their own exciting lineup of shows.
"Bloodhounds," an intense action-packed series, is an adaptation of the popular webcomics of the same name. Spanning eight episodes, the story revolves around two promising young boxers, Kim Geon-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Hong Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi). Kim finds himself entangled in the dangerous world of loan sharks when his mother incurs a significant debt owed to the ruthless Kim Myeong-gil (Park Sung-woong). With the help of Hong, they form an alliance with a compassionate moneylender to take down the predatory loan shark, who preys on those in dire financial circumstances. Notably, this marks the directorial debut of filmmaker Kim Joo-hwan, known for his 2017 comedy action film "Midnight Runners."
Actress Kim Tae-hee, known for her captivating performances, returns to the small screen with the ENA suspense thriller series, "Lies Hidden in My Garden," after a three-year hiatus since her leading role in the drama series "Hi Bye, Mama!" in 2020. Adapted from the novel of the same name, the narrative follows the life of Moon Joo-ran (Kim), a contented housewife married to a doctor. However, her tranquility is disrupted when she investigates a peculiar smell emanating from her backyard, leading her to encounter Chu Sang-eun (Lim Ji-yeon), a disadvantaged woman from a completely different background. As their paths intertwine, their lives take unexpected turns. The eight-part series, helmed by director Jung Ji-hyun, renowned for the hit romance series "Twenty-Five Twenty-One" (2022), is set to premiere on June 19.

JTBC's "King the Land" explores the blossoming romance between Gu Won (Lee Joon-ho), the heir of a conglomerate group, and Cheon Sa-Rang (Lim Yoon-a), an aspiring hotelier. When Cheon secures a job at one of the group's hotels, she encounters Gu, an intelligent and composed individual who slowly undergoes a transformation in the presence of her infectious spirit. Director Im Hyun-wook, recognized for his work on the melodrama series "Reflection of You" (2021) and the period rom-com "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency" (2019), helms the series.
Meanwhile, TvN's "See You in My 19th Life," a whimsical fantasy rom-com, centers around Ban Ji-eum (Shin Hye-sun), a woman gifted with the extraordinary ability to recall all her past lives. During her 18th life, a car accident interrupts her journey to an amusement park with her 12-year-old friend, Moon Seo-ha (Ahn Bo-hyun). In her current life, Ban endeavors to reconnect with Moon, who has become emotionally guarded since the accident.
