Talented actors Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun have been announced as the stars of the highly anticipated feature film adaptation of "Love in the Big City," a bestselling novel by Park Sang-young that made it to the longlist of the 2022 International Booker Prize.
The upcoming film centers around the vibrant Jae-hee (played by Kim), a free-spirited individual, and her close friend Heung-soo (played by Noh), who shares a house with her. Renowned filmmaker Lee Eon-hee, known for her notable works such as "…ing" (2003) and "Missing" (2016), will take the helm as director for this exciting project.
Kim expressed her enthusiasm for portraying the lively character of Jae-hee and conveyed her curiosity about how the captivating stories from the novel's different episodes would come to life on the big screen. "I'm so excited about portraying upbeat and fun-loving Jae-hee. I'm also curious how stories in different episodes will be adapted into a moving picture," Kim shared through the film's distributor, Plus M Entertainment.
The original novel, presented in four parts, weaves together stories of young individuals navigating life in a bustling city. As the film adaptation gears up to bring these tales to the screen, fans eagerly anticipate the on-screen chemistry between Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun.
Kim Go-eun's acting journey began in 2012 with her debut film "A Muse," and she has since dazzled audiences with her remarkable performances in hit dramas like "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (2016), "Yumi's Cells" (2021-2022), and "Little Women" (2022).
Noh Sang-hyun, who made his debut as a model, soared to fame through his role in the Apple TV+ series "Pachinko." Now, he is poised to captivate audiences once again with his portrayal of the intriguing character Heung-soo in "Love in the Big City."
In an exciting development, "Love in the Big City" will not only grace the silver screen but is also slated for adaptation into a TV series, set to enthrall viewers in the coming year.
