Naver Webtoon has recently amended its regulations to afford greater flexibility for its web cartoonists, as reported on Wednesday by local sources.

Under the revised guidelines, each artist on Naver Webtoon now has the option to take breaks by postponing one episode for every 25 published. This marks a departure from the previous policy, which permitted artists to take only one break per year, regardless of the number of webtoon episodes they produced. It's common for webtoon artists on Naver to publish content once or twice a week for series that extend well beyond a year. With the new policy, artists can now potentially take up to four breaks during their series.

The adjustment comes in response to consistent requests from webtoonists for more opportunities to rest, with many expressing concerns about being overworked.

This update follows a similar move by Kakao Entertainment, another webtoon platform operator, which revised its regulations last year to allow two in-between breaks for every 40 episodes written.
