The upcoming film "Our Season" is set to premiere in local theaters on December 6. The movie features actor Shin Min-a in the role of Jin-joo, an eatery owner who serves homecooked dishes based on her late mother's recipes.
Veteran actor Kim Hae-sook portrays Shin's mother, Bok-ja, who pays her daughter a visit from "heaven" on a guided "vacation from heaven" led by Kang Ki-young. In an intriguing twist, although Bok-ja can see her daughter closely, Jin-joo cannot hear or see her mother. Together with her best friend, Mi-jin (Hwang Bo-ra), Jin-joo embarks on a journey to recreate her mother's recipes, attempting to fill the void left after quitting her career as a professor at a prestigious U.S. university.

Directed by Yuk Sang-hyo and written by screenwriter Yoo Young-ah, known for works like "Miracle in Cell No. 7" (2013) and "Kim Ji-young: Born 1982" (2019), "Our Season" focuses on depicting the intricate emotions within family relationships. Yoo Young-ah, the screenwriter, shared her inspiration for the film, stating, "I've always contemplated how one can convey heartfelt messages to a departed close family member. This imaginative storyline evolved from that thought." She emphasized that the movie stands out as a fantasy film, exploring how characters communicate through their emotions when conventional communication is no longer possible.
