It is a work where you can look at the fashion of the Rococo era that was popular in France. The main character of the portrait is believed to be the Marquis de Gléon, a writer and amateur actor.

The Marquis de Pompadour's hair and clothing style, popular in France in the mid-18th century, is eye-catching. The hair was brushed without a part, and the style of "tete de mouton, goat hair" was characterized by a row of curly braid. The heads were sprinkled with white powder and blue flower ornaments made of pearls and silk, which were named 'pompom' after the Marquis de Pompadour who made them fashionable. Delicate and colorful sleeves made with wide square neckline and cutwork lace stand out.
