One year since their auspicious debut, the multinational K-pop band Lapillus made a triumphant return on Wednesday with their second EP, "Girl's Round Part. 2". The release marks the end of a nine-month hiatus, and coincides with the band's first anniversary, making the occasion a doubly meaningful celebration.

The band — an eclectic mix of six members including Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon and Haeun — hosted a press conference on Wednesday to officially introduce their comeback. Sporting new visuals and beats, the group spoke with exuberance and optimism about their return to the stage.

Feeling a sense of rebirth, Shana, the band's leader, expressed, "We've worked diligently to present ourselves to the global K-pop community. Expect our buoyant energy on the stage."

Their latest release arrived just a day after the anniversary of their debut, adding to the significance of the occasion. Haeun, the band's youngest member, reflected, "Our hiatus gave us an opportunity to meticulously prepare for this moment. We're ecstatic to finally present what we've been working on."

In terms of musical themes, "Girl's Round Part. 2" treads along the lines of their previous EP "Girl's Round Part. 1", further exploring the quest for self-identity and acceptance. Bessie, the band's main vocalist, shared, "This album encapsulates messages of self-confidence and self-love. It's an affirmation to our listeners: 'We are perfect as we are. We should love ourselves.'"

"Who's Next", a commanding dance anthem from the album, encapsulates the girls' charisma and conviction. Performed alongside two other new songs, "Paper" and "Marionette," during the event, the song stood out as a testament to their evolving musical prowess.

Seowon expanded on "Who's Next," stating, "The song symbolizes our ambition to lead the next generation of girl groups. The lyrics' boldness mirrors our own audacity."

Looking forward, the band envisions greater recognition and impact with this album. Seowon expressed her aspiration for a top spot on the charts and on a TV music show, hoping to widen the reach of Lapillus' name.

The group, managed by MLD Entertainment, comprises an array of nationalities — Filipino Argentinian member Chanty, Japanese Shana, Chinese American Yue, and South Koreans Bessie, Seowon and Haeun. Their debut single, "Hit Ya," released on June 20, 2022, created ripples in the K-pop arena with their diverse blend.

In conclusion, the members expressed heartfelt gratitude towards their fans. "Becoming a K-pop idol was a dream," said Chanty, as Yue added, "We're incredibly grateful for our fans' affection and hope to share many more years with them."
