Speaking to the Korean press at CGV's Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, Villeneuve described the sequel as picking up immediately from where "Part One" concluded, with a more intense focus on conflict and a rapidly unfolding plot. The film is scheduled for release in February.
Villeneuve, a prominent Canadian director known for his work on films like "Sicario," "Arrival," and "Blade Runner 2049," emphasized the development of character relationships, particularly highlighting the romance between Paul Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (played by Zendaya).

Acknowledging the challenges of creating a seamless continuation between the two parts, Villeneuve expressed pride in the outcome of "Part Two" and conveyed eagerness to share it with the audience. He noted the difficulties in the filming process, emphasizing the lack of a gap between the shoots on the fictional planet Arrakis.
The first installment, "Dune," premiered in Korea in October, achieving both critical acclaim and commercial success. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the film grossed $402 million worldwide and drew 1.54 million moviegoers.
Villeneuve, touched by the positive reception in Korea, expressed gratitude to the audience for their support. The "Dune" films are adaptations of Frank Herbert's renowned science fiction franchise, covering the entirety of the first book in two parts. Villeneuve hinted at the uncertainty of a third installment, citing the demanding schedule of the two "Dune" movies and suggesting the possibility of returning after a break.
