Cha Eun-woo, a singer-actor, returns to romantic comedy after a three-year hiatus with MBC's new series, "A Good Day to be a Dog." The show combines romantic comedy and fantasy elements to offer a unique narrative.

During a press conference at the broadcaster's headquarters, Cha Eun-woo expressed his excitement for the role, highlighting his desire to present an upgraded version of himself compared to his previous work in the 2020 romance drama "True Beauty." He emphasized the potential for a more enjoyable portrayal despite the genre similarity.

The fantasy series, based on a popular webcomic, follows high school literature teacher Han Hae-na (Park Gyu-young), who undergoes an unusual curse, turning into a dog after a kiss. The story unfolds as she accidentally kisses a fellow teacher, Jin Seo-won (Cha Eun-woo), triggering the curse. To reverse it, she must figure out how to kiss him again while in her dog form.

The first two episodes were released recently, showcasing the storyline where Han mistakes Jin for her crush and inadvertently kisses him, leading to her transformation into a dog. With only 100 days to break the curse, the plot adds a layer of complexity and humor as the characters navigate the situation.

Director Kim Dae-woong expressed satisfaction with the cast's resemblance to the original webcomic characters, focusing on a realistic and subtle portrayal of the fantasy elements to enhance the series' comedic impact. Both lead actors, Park and Cha, shared their insights on how they incorporated elements of their characters into their performances, adding depth and authenticity to their roles.
