'The Page', a solo exhibition by artist Mi-keum Um, is held in Seoul.
The artist has been drawing traditional Korean folk paintings mainly based on 'books' for the past 30 years, but the exhibition will introduce a new canvas work.
Um is making a formative attempt by reinterpreting the traditional folk paintings that have been painted so far in a modern way. The exhibition name 'The Page' refers to a transition in which the artist inherits the spirit of her previous folk painting work and announces a new leap forward.

Focusing on the changes in thoughts and values contained in her work, she tried to create new works from various perspectives. She reached minimalism in the process of constantly decomposing and reinterpreting the philosophical art museums of the East and the West.
The artist said, " I constantly drew various book paintings and concentrated on my own work, naturally creating new beauty by my standards.".

Um leads the audience to an infinite world of thoughts in a new way of expression that is not limited to a specific genre. In the exhibition, the audience can enjoy a total of 27 works with modern colors, geometric expressions, and neat and oriental aspects at the same time.
The exhibition will be held at Art Chosun Space in Jung-gu, Seoul until December 9, and admission is free.
