In celebration of their 10th anniversary, global superstars BTS unveiled their latest single, "Take Two," on Friday. The highly anticipated song, which debuted at 1 p.m., serves as a significant milestone for the group, marking their first release since their ninth-anniversary anthology album, "Proof," in June 2022.
According to a statement from Big Hit Music, BTS's agency, "Take Two" symbolizes the band's second chapter and reflects their deep appreciation for their dedicated fanbase. The song encompasses their collective journey and their unwavering promise to continue moving forward alongside their supporters.
BTS, composed of members RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, celebrates the official 10th anniversary of their debut this year. On July 13, 2013, the group made their debut with the release of "No More Dream."
"Take Two" is a heartfelt gift from the septet to the fans who have stood by them throughout their remarkable decade-long career. Demonstrating their artistic involvement, the group's three rappers—Suga, RM, and J-Hope—played pivotal roles in the song's creation, with Suga taking charge of production, while RM and J-Hope contributed to the composition.
In the lead-up to the release, BTS shared a series of seven photos—one from each member—offering intriguing hints about "Take Two." These pictures were taken at significant locations worldwide, evoking personal memories for each member. RM's photo was captured at the Dia Beacon Museum, Jin's on a Los Angeles beach, Suga's at a concert hall, J-Hope's at New York's Brooklyn Bridge, Jimin's on a music video set, V's on a yacht in Mexico, and Jungkook's amidst a captivating sunset in Qatar. The agency further revealed that the words "Light," "Begin," "Soul," "Together," "Face," "Young," and "Stay"—extracted from the lyrics of "Take Two"—were inscribed beneath each respective photo.
While celebrating their monumental 10th anniversary, BTS enthusiasts from around the world have flocked to Seoul. In honor of this milestone, BTS organized the citywide festival, "BTS Presents Everywhere," in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This special edition of the group's annual "BTS Festa" aims to engage and connect with fans on a deeper level.
It is important to note that BTS is currently on an official group hiatus, as announced during their ninth-anniversary celebrations in June last year. This break allows the members to focus on their individual careers and fulfill their mandatory military service obligations. Currently, Jin and J-Hope are serving in the army.
As BTS's 10th anniversary unfolds, "Take Two" symbolizes the group's enduring commitment to their fans and signifies the beginning of an exciting new chapter for one of the most influential musical acts of our time.
