In a highly anticipated comeback, YG Entertainment's youngest boy group, Treasure, seeks to redefine its musical identity with the release of their second studio album, "Reboot." After a 10-month hiatus, the 10-member band aspires to start afresh and shed their previous teenlike image. During a press conference in Seoul, the group expressed their excitement about this new chapter in their career and shared insights into the album's direction.
"Reboot" features ten diverse tracks, including the lead single "Bona Bona," characterized by a powerful brass sound and energetic drum beats reminiscent of a marching band, aligning with the signature YG-style. Jihoon of Treasure emphasized that the album's title aptly represents their desire to reinvent themselves after three years since their debut, during which they have matured and honed their musical and performance skills.
One notable addition to the album is the track "Move," a pre-release from the band's first subunit, T5, comprised of members Junghwan, Junkyu, Jihoon, Jaehyuk, and Doyoung. By showcasing this track in advance, Treasure sought to prepare their fans for the musical evolution and concept shift in "Reboot." Jihoon also hinted at the possibility of introducing more subunits in the future to showcase the diverse charms the group possesses collectively.
Despite facing recent departures of members Bang Ye-dam and Mashiho, Treasure remains determined to deliver a top-notch product for their loyal supporters. With their chief producer Yang Hyun-suk actively involved in crafting the album's direction, the group is confident in delivering a high-quality and satisfying musical experience to their listeners.
Treasure's musical journey has seen remarkable growth, marked by their successful first Asia tour, "Hello," which featured 40 concerts across 17 cities. The group was pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response from fans, with their concert at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, being completely sold out. Speaking on their aspirations, Jihoon revealed that performing at a stadium is now their next goal, and they are committed to working hard to achieve this dream.
To further expand their global presence, Treasure recently joined forces with the American label Columbia Records, aiming to reach an international audience beyond Asia. Reflecting on their experiences during the Asia tour, Jihoon expressed the group's excitement about performing worldwide and their determination to become better artists with more diverse and compelling music.
As Treasure embarks on this new chapter with "Reboot," fans and music enthusiasts alike eagerly anticipate the group's growth and evolution, as they strive to break free from their past and make a lasting impact on the global stage.
