The Faces gallery in Marseille's Endoume district has established itself as a premier destination for international photography, launching a groundbreaking collaboration with WePresent, the cultural platform of WeTransfer. This marks the first time WePresent has established a physical presence in a gallery space, choosing the Mediterranean port city for its inaugural venture into permanent exhibition spaces.

While many people are familiar with WeTransfer as a file-sharing platform, fewer know about WePresent, its artistic division created in 2018. Every time users visit WeTransfer, they see beautiful photographs as background images – these are works by artists selected by WePresent. From these simple showcases, the platform has evolved into a serious artistic production house, curating thousands of artists from more than 100 countries worldwide.

Previously, WePresent's creations could only be viewed on their digital platform or during temporary exhibitions in various locations, primarily in the United States and United Kingdom. France had not yet experienced this phenomenon until now. The collaboration with Faces gallery represents a significant milestone as WePresent establishes its first permanent gallery partnership.

Since March 2024, Faces has operated as a hybrid space featuring a welcoming café at the heart of neighborhood life and a shop where visitors can purchase photographic prints by emerging Marseille artists at affordable prices. The walls showcase exhibitions by local and national photographers, including the current exhibition by Guillaume Blot, who presents his road trip documenting truck stops and roadside restaurants across France.

The gallery's international ambitions have now materialized with a new space on the first floor, which opened on November 28 with an exhibition by Belgian-Moroccan photographer Mous Lamrabat, in collaboration with WePresent. The artist had previously been featured in London for three days before arriving at this beautiful seaside location, where his work will remain on display until January 18, 2026.

Lamrabat, who comes from the fashion photography world, presents "Moustalgia," a collection of pop and hip-hop inspired photographs that blend 1990s culture with landscapes from Dakar and Qatar, creating an offbeat universe. "This raw poetry that comes from the street, this rather urban spirit, corresponds perfectly to the universe of Faces," commented David Aït-Ali, co-founder of the gallery. His connection with WePresent teams at the Rencontres d'Arles festival last year proved successful, and "the vibe of Marseille" sealed the deal.

Six exhibitions are planned for 2026 on the first floor, featuring artists selected from WePresent's pool of hundreds of international photographers. David is already thinking ahead, envisioning "a building dedicated to photography." During 2026, the second floor will offer another exhibition space with a different style, while the rooftop – accessible to Faces Club members (€45 annually) or participants in regularly organized yoga classes – provides an unfiltered photographic view of Marseille.

The current exhibitions include "Moustalgia" by Mous Lamrabat on the first floor until January 18, 2026, and "Rades" and "Restos Routiers" by Guillaume Blot until January 31, 2026. The gallery is located at 232 rue d'Endoume in the 7th arrondissement, with free admission for all visitors.
