In a groundbreaking announcement made on the 7th, LG Electronics has declared its official headline partnership with 'Frieze Seoul 2023,' a prominent art fair. This collaboration aims to showcase the exceptional works of the late Kim Hwan-ki, a master of Korean abstract art, on state-of-the-art organic light-emitting diode (OLED) television screens.

Frieze, celebrated worldwide for its representation of contemporary art, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the renowned Art Basel in Switzerland. This year's exhibition, hosted at COEX in Seoul for a four-day duration until the 9th of this month, is set to feature the participation of approximately 300 galleries from across the globe. Having served as a global partner of Frieze since 2021, LG Electronics is now poised to take center stage as the headline partner for Frieze Seoul, marking a historic achievement as the first-ever headline partner for Frieze.

This captivating exhibition, proudly presented by LG Electronics, will introduce 12 original paintings by the late Kim Hwan-ki, including his iconic masterpiece, "," alongside five pieces of media art that offer fresh interpretations of his oeuvre. The exhibition will also shine a spotlight on domestic digital artists such as Professor Je-sung Park from Seoul National University, artist Ahn Mano, artist Dae-hwan Kim, and the media art collective VERSEDAY. These artists have brilliantly reimagined Kim Hwan-ki's work in digital form, utilizing an ultra-large LG OLED TV as their canvas.

Visitors to this unique exhibition will be treated to an immersive experience on the world's largest 97-inch wireless OLED TV, featuring media art inspired by Kim Hwan-ki's original work, "," where the intense red dots are vividly drawn into a captivating circular formation.

The artists and creators involved in this collaborative endeavor have lauded OLED TV technology for its ability to faithfully reproduce the original colors and nuances of the artworks. Professor Je-seong Park praised the unique feature of OLED TV, which emits its own light, allowing for a perfect expression of the original paint colors as luminous hues. Writer Kim Dae-hwan also extolled the picture quality of LG OLED TV, noting its exceptional capacity to accurately convey the deep blacks and perfect color fidelity of the original pieces.

This exhibition forms an integral part of LG Electronics' ongoing 'OLED ART Project.' Leveraging the remarkable picture quality and versatile form factor offered by OLED technology, LG Electronics has collaborated with renowned artists such as Anish Kapoor, Kevin Mckoy, Barry X Ball, and Six N. Five, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
