Continuing to assert his musical prowess, Jungkook, a pivotal member of the global sensation BTS, has achieved an unprecedented feat on the U.S. Billboard charts. His debut solo single, "Seven," has sustained its reign atop the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for an impressive fourth consecutive week.
The latest charts, released on Tuesday (U.S. local time), heralded "Seven" as the unassailable leader for the fourth week running, marking Jungkook's distinction as the first-ever K-pop artist to achieve such a milestone.
These coveted charts draw from an amalgamation of streaming and sales data originating from over 200 countries globally. The Global Excl. U.S. chart specifically excludes data from the United States in its calculations, providing a comprehensive picture of global music trends.
Beyond the international scene, "Seven" continues its ascent on the Billboard Hot 100 main songs chart, climbing to the 28th position in its fourth week, a two-notch advancement from the previous week.
Unveiled on July 14, the effervescent pop anthem, a collaborative effort featuring American female rapper Latto, burst onto the scene by seizing the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 later that month.
Amidst this chart-topping success, other K-pop luminaries have also carved their place on the musical landscape. The hit single "Cupid" from the talented girl group Fifty Fifty maintained its noteworthy presence by securing the 25th spot, extending its reign for an impressive 21 consecutive weeks.
Similarly, girl group NewJeans' charismatic track "Super Shy" continues to resonate, clinching the 66th position in its fifth successive week.
Reflecting the diverse influence of K-pop on global charts, NewJeans' second EP "Get Up," anchored by "Super Shy," maintains a remarkable position on the latest Billboard 200 main albums chart. Holding strong in the 12th spot, the EP retains its elevated stance for the third consecutive week.
Further amplifying the genre's international impact, girl group ITZY's new EP and boy group Tomorrow X Together's second Japanese-language studio album made their grand entrance onto the charts, debuting at the 23rd and 54th positions respectively.
In the ever-evolving realm of global music, K-pop luminaries like Jungkook continue to set new benchmarks, etching their presence onto the global stage with their resounding melodies and unwavering fanbase.
